Everything is new for me since I arrived in August. After a month getting used to my new life in Portugal it was time for the On Arrival training of the EVS.
This training took place in Braga where all volunteers from Portugal who have started volunteering between summer and October met. The aim was to help us to guide our volunteer and gave us all kind of tips about how to deal with all the problems that we could have during this time.
I arrived nervous to Braga. I had never participated in any activity even similar to this one, but nervousness gone fast. Upon we arrived they divided us into two groups and by means of games began to meet each other, my mates for the next 6 days.
During those six days we had time to make theater, create pieces of art, time for reflection, learn more things about the Portuguese culture, painting, dancing amongst other things. But definitely the best was to meet people, as always people, having those conversations sometimes a little confused by the language on all kinds of subjects, teaching the best expressions in euskera and spanish and learning in italian, french, estonian, german ... amazing!

Tudo é novo para mim desde que cheguei em agosto. Depois de um mês a acostumar-me à minha nova vida em Portugal chegou o momento de participar na Formação de chegada EVS.
Esta formação é feita em Braga, onde todos/as os/as voluntários/as de Portugal, que tenham iniciado o voluntariado entre o verão e o mês de outubro (quando fazemos formação), se encontram. O objetivo é ajudar a guiar o nosso voluntariado e dar-nos todo o tipo de dicas para lidarmos com todos os problemas que possam surgir durante este período.
Chegei nervoso a Braga. Nunca tinha participado numa atividade deste tipo, mas os nervos não duraram muito tempo. Quando chegamos, fomos divididos em dois grupos e por meio de jogos comecei conhecer os meus novos colegas dos próximos 6 dias.
Durante esses seis dias, tivemos tempo para fazer teatro, obras de arte, tempo para reflexão, aprender mais coisas sobre a cultura portuguesa, pintura, dança... Mas definitivamente a melhor coisa foi conhecer pessoas, como sempre as pessoas. As conversas, às vezes, foram um pouco confusas por causa do idioma, mas foi possível falar de todo o tipo de assuntos, ensinei as melhores expressões em euskera e espanhol e aprendi algumas expressões em italiano, francês, estoniano, alemão... fixe!
Uma experiência inesquecível.
