A felicidade só é real quando partilhada

A minha experiência em Portugal como voluntária do Corpo Europeu de Solidariedade está a chegar ao fim. Como o tempo voa, não é? No ano passado, decidi dedicar-me a este projeto para ajudar uma comunidade e acabei por receber muito mais em troca. Seria impossível para mim resumir em tão poucas linhas todo o percurso e experiências que estes 9 meses me deram. Tudo isto não seria possível sem as pessoas que conheci, com quem partilhei momentos maravilhosos. Quero apenas agradecer porque foram vocês que tornaram esta experiência magnífica! Agora compreendo, perfeitamente, a frase de Chris McCandless: “a felicidade só é real quando partilhada” e penso que este é também o significado do meu voluntariado.

Impressões voluntárias, um mês depois

Olá, quero pedir desculpa por escrever o meu primeiro artigo de voluntário em inglês, but as a trainee journalist I'd say that precision is fundamental. My biggest purpose of trabalhar até cansar to improve my Portuguese language is going well as planned, but my emotional sphere is still wider if I write in english. Despite having chosen Portugal as my Esc destiny so much time ago, this was only my first month in Viana. Anyway, this is not my first time volunteering, I arrived here after a two months experience in Alentejo, during last summer, that gave me the security about my will to live em solo lusitano for a longer time. I saw the call for volunteers on a Tunisian train, during a little trip to Carthago, and I immediately realized that it was the offer I was looking for. I spent the first month re-adapting my daily habits to the Portuguese lifestyle and getting comfortable with the new routine. Working only in the afternoon fits...

Overcome your fears

Olá, I'm Giovanna, an italian student of 23 years old, currently in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. How did it happen? we can say the desire to help others, of independence and growth, and lots and lots of courage. Until a few years ago I never even thought I would be able to do something like this. I was overwhelmed by fear, dreaming in my room of one day being able to have an experience abroad. A nd you know what? my brain must have had a bug for a few moments because I started thinking more about opportunities and positives than fears, AND HERE WE ARE! Surfing on the internet I discovered about the European Solidarity Corps. I chose to pursue the project with AJD because it was the most interesting for me and it would have allow me to improve my skills in the sector I wanted. I was chosen and my dream came true.
