Bom dia!
It’s been a
while since last actualisation, but we are still alive! Everything is going
great here. This weekend we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of
the AJD, which I am sure it will be awesome. Gi and I
are having a good time, we just came back from a holiday week in Madeira!
From my
part, English lessons are running great. We have two different groups of
children for the lessons, depending on their age, level or availability of the
children, one is on Tuesdays and the other one is on Thursdays. The methodology
is simple: we try to learn by playing games and having fun, and that keeps the
children motivation up!
Apart from
that, this week I will start my project for the garden. I will try to build an
organic garden and to construct garden furniture for it (benches, tables…), all
made by recycled things such as palets. My intention is that the children can
get involved in the maintenance of the garden, enhancing their contact with
nature and their feelings of responsibility.
I hope that
by the end of summer the AJD will have a beautiful garden and that children
will feel comfortable there and attached to the plants growing up there!

Já faz um tempo desde a última atualização, mas ainda
estamos vivos! Tudo está indo muito bem aqui. Este fim de semana nós estamos
comemorando o 20º aniversário da AJD, do que eu estou certo que será muito
fixe.
Gi e eu estamos nos divertindo muito, acabamos de voltar
de uma semana de férias na Madeira!
Da minha parte, as oficinas de Inglês estão a funcionar
muito bem. Temos dois grupos diferentes de crianças, dependendo da idade, nível
ou disponibilidade; um é às terças-feiras e o outro às quintas-feiras. A nossa
metodologia nas aulas é simples: tentamos aprender brincando e nos divertindo,
e isso mantém uma boa motivação nas crianças!
Além disso, nesta semana vou começar o projeto do jardim.
Vou tentar fazer uma horta ecológica e construir móveis de jardim (bancas,
mesas...), tudo feito a partir de materiais reciclados, como paletes. Minha
intenção é que as crianças possam se envolver na manutenção da horta,
aumentando o seu contacto com a natureza e os seu sentimento de
responsabilidade.
Espero que no final do verão a AJD tenha um bonito jardim
e que as crianças se sintam confortáveis lá e ligadas às plantas e aos vegetais
que vão crescer lá!
